After  eleven years at GE, where she held leadership positions in several divisions across the world Swaady Martin, an Ivorian entrepreneur, decided to follow her passion for African culture & tea, and founded Yswara a growing home-grown African global luxury tea brand four years ago.

The company is growing well and Yswara just opened a new tea room in Johannesburg in the vibrant Maboneng neighbourhood. Maboneng is a collaborative hub of culture, business and lifestyle that entices curiosity, encourages exploration and promotes a sense of urban togetherness. Maboneng is a destination on the eastern side of the city’s business district offering retail stores, entertainment venues and restaurants mixed with residential, office and industrial spaces that appeal to a wide variety of people and businesses.

Yswara tea shop is cosy and warm with a soft palette of pale pink, powder and nude. It is also a gentle mix between tradition and modernity. Designer Mia Widlake’s Studio 19, come together to form a serene retreat in which tea fanatics can sample the range of brews sourced from Malawi, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Kenya, Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa...

At Yswara you’ll enjoy delicate teas with poetics names such as the Thousand Hills Majesty, Shaka Zulu, Makea of Sheba, Unbuntu, Great Kivu… that will take you to a travel through the most beautiful places in African countries.
