Dancing and happy models are very uncommon these days, especially in a fashion world where models are asked not to smile. Edward Buchanan‘s presentation was filled with talent and joy. Beside the happiness in the air, it was a very interesting moment of Milan fashion week, as it totally rethinks the runway experience.
For his debut presentation for his knitwear line Sansovino 6, Ohio-born, Milan-based designer decided to reunite with his friends for a disco live performance at a dance hall in Milan.
Italian fashion designer and former creative director of Saint Laurent, Stefano Pilati styled the collection, American dancer Stephen Galloway produced and choregraphed the show. Buchanan also invites model friends: Debra Shaw, Chrystèle Saint Louis Augustin, Stacey Mckenzie to be part of the show. We could admire them dancing, singing and show the fluidity and the structure of this oversize and elegant collection. Prodigy dancer Michael-John Harper was on the stage too.
Former Bottega Venetta designer explained to Vogue that he decided to relaunched his label because he started working with an amazing manufacturer. The collection is “100 percent made in Italy, all based on knit”. The show was the occasion to see that knit have many aspects.
This presentation was a very good reboot and we wish Edward Buchanan and his brand the best. For sure Sansovino 6 will be on our shopping list next fall!
